If you have a summer cottage or camp, it’s time to open it up and prepare for another summer of beach days and firepit nights! Summer is arriving and opening your summer cottage is exciting! It can also be stressful and a lot of hard work.
At 207 Plumbing & Heating, we provide seasonal second-home opening services so that when you arrive all your utilities are working properly and you can settle right in comfortably.
Here’s what we do for you – so you don’t have to!
We inspect all your plumbing for any visible signs of damage before turning on the water supply to your cottage. Once this is done we turn on the water and check the water pressures.
We fill your hot water heater and stick around long enough to make sure it is coming to temperature and that it is operating properly with no visible leaks.
If your water comes from a well system, we prime and activate the well pump, checking to make sure water levels are adequate and that water is flowing properly.
Many camps enjoy outdoor showers and faucets for hoses and sprinkler systems. We turn on all your outdoor water sources and make sure they are operating properly with no fixture damage or breaks.
Once we have all the water turned on, we inspect all the water lines to make sure there are no leaks or split pipes. We also check all the faucets and other plumbing fixtures to be sure everything is working properly.
Maine’s harsh winters can leave damage to building exteriors. While we are onsite, we always take the time to do a visual inspection of your home. We look for damage such as missing roof shingles and siding, broken windows, fallen tree limbs and branches, and any other signs of damage or breakage. Of course we are on the lookout for signs of break-in or other disturbances as well.
